Can you see which Instagram posts people find through Google, rather than through their feed?
Connect your account to Search Console and use the report to choose one useful content improvement.
Yes — With A Platform Property
Google’s July 2026 announcement says platform properties are available globally for Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube. They report how your content performs on Google; they do not replace your social platform’s analytics.
Why This Matters
A post can help someone discover your business beyond the feed. Knowing which questions bring people to it gives you a more useful starting point than simply repeating your most-liked format.
Set Up In Five Steps
Follow Google’s platform-property instructions. Search Console is free.
1. Check Your Existing Properties
Open Search Console and check the property selector. Accounts verified through your claimed Search profile may already be there.
2. Add Your Platform
On the welcome screen, or through the property selector, choose Add property. Select Add beside Instagram or your chosen supported platform.
3. Verify The Right Account
Follow the prompts to verify ownership. Check the account carefully, particularly if you manage several businesses.
4. Open Your Property
After confirmation, select Go to property. Repeat for each separate account or channel you want to measure.
5. Give The Report Time
Allow a few days for data to appear. A new property only has data from when collection started, so avoid comparing a partial period with a complete one.
Turn The Report Into A Decision
Start with Insights, then inspect a specific post in Performance. Google’s analysis guide explains how to examine search terms, countries and individual URLs.

Search term → relevant post → one improvement. Check whether the post answers the question clearly and gives the reader a useful next step.
For example, if a bakery finds search traffic reaching a cake-ordering post, it could check that collection details remain accurate. This is a possible use of the report, not a reported result.
Your Setup Checklist
Know What It Cannot Tell You
The report does not measure in-app reach or prove that a post generated a sale. Discover and News reports appear only when the content receives traffic there.
An empty chart is not proof that your content is poor. If access pauses, you may need to verify the connection again.
Connect, Learn, Then Improve
Set up one account first. Once data arrives, choose one relevant post, record your change and review what happens before expanding the work.
